Richard Allen Lush

Mr. Richard Allen Lush, age 52 of Gainesville, formerly of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Chestnut Mountain Church with Pastor Brian Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00

A.M. prior to the service.

Mr. Lush was born February 24, 1971 to Charles Mitchell Lush & Thelma Lush in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a lifelong Florida Gator fan and loved the “City of Bridges.” His love of music, singing, laughter and frequent quotes of lyrics or movie lines will be greatly missed. Most importantly, he loved God and loved people.  

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Christa Ladner Lush; sons, PFC Richard A Lush, Jr & Charles Mitchell Lush III; daughter, Ashlyn Faith Lush; mother, Thelma Lush Jeffries and step-sister Donna Lynn Jeffries, all of Gainesville, Georgia; and numerous family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mitchell Lush; step-father, Linwood Jeffries, Jr.; step-brother, Linwood Jeffries III; and brother, Charles Mitchell Lush II.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Chestnut Mountain Church.
