Shedrice Lee Banks, Sr.

Shedrice Lee Banks, Sr., age 85, of Buford, GA., passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Yvonne Banks; parents, Kerry Banks, Sr. and Lela Mae Banks.  He is survived by his children, Shedrice Lee Banks, Jr., Daryl Keith Banks, Derrick Lee Banks, Yvette Renise Palmer, and Eric Banks; sister-in-law, Helen Hunter; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Shedrice was born, October 7, 1938 in Hawkinsville, GA.  He served in the United States Army Reserve after High School.  After the Army Reserve, he enrolled in trucking school.  After a few years of long-distance trucking, Shedrice started working for Whirlpool and stayed there until he retired.

Shedrice loved his family and his family loved him.  Shedrice will be missed, especially his cutting edged comedic humor.  He was known for letting you know that if you don’t listen, you’ll Feel; meaning that if you pay attention to my words of wisdom, they’ll guide you on the straight and narrow.  But if you choose to take the path of your own choice without God, you’ll feel the blows that life will bring.  We will miss you Sir!

Today we honor the son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.  We will remember you and as we pray, that when you met Jesus, the Author Finisher and Perfecter of your faith…He declared, “Well done my good and faithful servant…. well done!”   We will never forget you!  When we reflect on your life and what you have meant to us, may we imagine you getting a warm hug from heaven in Jesus name!

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2024 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.  A Private Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2024 at Hillcrest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
