Kimberly Evette Baylor

Kimberly Evette Baylor, beloved daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend, passed away on December 12, 2023, at Emory North Decatur Hospital in Decatur, Georgia, at the age of 63. Her passing was due to complications from an extended illness.
 
Born on May 8, 1960, in Gainesville, GA, to Lewis Cary Baylor and Dorothy Ruth (Johnson) Baylor, Kim's life was marked by an unwavering commitment to kindness and a passion for connecting with others. She was a beacon of warmth and generosity, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her boundless love.
 
Kim's academic achievements were a testament to her dedication and intellect. She graduated with honors from Gainesville High School and continued her education in accounting at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, NC.
 
Her professional journey began at Westinghouse Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA, where she dedicated ten years of her life before embarking on an entrepreneurial path as a massage therapist. Kim's entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by her involvement in various organizations, notably as a Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Alpha Mu Chapter member at North Carolina A&T.
 
Beyond her professional and organizational affiliations, Kim found solace and joy in community theater acting and drama, particularly in Pittsburgh, where she lived for over 40 years. Her love for the arts showcased her vibrant spirit and creativity.
 
Kim's devotion to her family and friends shone brightly in her personal life. Her genuine care and affection knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her surviving sister, Marie A. (Baylor) Powell of Mableton, Georgia, niece Karma Gant of Atlanta, Georgia, and nephew Michael L.D. Reed Atlanta, Georgia, Michael's wife Shalonda Reed, great-nephews Michael and Malik Reed, and a host of cousins, many concentrated in the Austin, Houston, and Dallas, Texas areas.
 
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Cary Baylor and Dorothy Ruth Baylor, and her sister, Carolyn L. Baylor.
 
In the wake of her passing, Kim leaves behind cherished memories of her radiant spirit, boundless compassion, and unwavering love. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
