Waldo Carvin Lunsford

Mr. Waldo Carvin Lunsford, age 95, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was born in Suches, Georgia, on October 8, 1928, to the late Cicero Lunsford and the late Lula Jane Abercrombie Lunsford. Mr. Lunsford was a man of strong faith, following the Baptist tradition, and found great joy in the beauty of God's outdoors.

Waldo lived a full life surrounded by his love for family and nature. He cherished moments spent hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories in the great outdoors. His passion extended to gardening, canning, and tending to his yard, where he found solace and fulfillment.

He is survived by his children, Jerry (Penny) Lunsford and Janet Robinson; grandchildren Lyndsey (Clint) Freeland, Laura Lunsford, and Josh (Ashley) Robinson; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Rhett, and Evy Freeland. Mr. Lunsford is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Stringer Lunsford, and son-in-law, Larry Robinson. He was the last surviving member of his seven siblings.

In accordance with Mr. Lunsford's wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of Waldo’s life will take place in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2023. The Reverend Stephen Gerrells will officiate the service, and inurnment will follow at Dahlonega Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.
