Janice Mahaffey Berry

Janice Mahaffey Berry, age 91, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, James B. Berry; son, Robert L. “Bobby” Berry; granddaughter, Jennifer Berry; grandson, Jimmy Price; great-grandson, William Milburn; daughter-in-law, Helen Cheeley Berry; son-in-law, Gaines Price. Mrs. Berry is survived by her daughters, Ruth Jane Berry Price of Buford, Marie (Mitch) Williams of Jefferson, GA; son, Kenneth Berry of Buford; grandchildren, Lisa (Richard) Fugel, Chris (Patricia) Berry, Melanie (Scott) Igarashi, Tina (Robbi) Robers, Joey (Mauri) Berry, Matthew Berry, Tim (Jessica) Price, Heidi (Kevin) Entrekin, Heather (Dan) Stima; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Vallie Ruth Berry of Clarkesville, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a very dear friend and neighbor, Patricia Beard Adams.  Mrs. Berry was born on March 3, 1932 and was a native of Lawrenceville, GA. She received her education at Sunny Hill School in Lawrenceville, GA. Mrs. Berry was a home maker and also did child care for many families.  She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Buford and of the ByKota Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Berry enjoyed sending cards and baking cookies which she considered this as her ministry to encourage people.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Calvert officiating.  Interment will follow in the Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
