He spent his free time volunteering as a translator, driver, and all-around helper to Vietnamese people in his community. He was loved by all who knew him and touched countless lives.
Ban is survived by his loving wife, Tram Anh Thi Vo, who brought joy and healing to his heart, and by his loving first wife, Huong Nguyen (Ngo Thu), who maintained a close relationship with him until his passing. He is survived by his beloved children and their spouses: Trinh Boswell (Chris Boswell), Jennifer Thuy-Tien McCall (Joshua McCall), Hoangtran Dang (Minh Hieu Nguyen), Tran Huyen Dang (Hoa Buu Le), and Calvin Chau. His son Trung Nguyen predeceased him in December 2022, but now they are reunited. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren: Annamaria Koch, Kate McCall, Howell McCall, Xander Nguyen, Cayden Nguyen, Noelle Nguyen, Mandy Nguyen, Henry Kim Le, and Hayden Le. He is survived by his siblings: Nguyen Thi Than and family, Nguyen Hong Chi Va (Thuy Nguyen), Nguyen Ba Thang and family, Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet and family, and Nguyen Van Quat and his son, Nguyen Nhat Nam. He was preceded in death by his parents and the following siblings: Nguyen Thi Nhu, Nguyen Thi Kim Nhuoc, and Nguyen Hong Ky. He is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He had a welcoming smile for every person he encountered and left a lasting imprint on all.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The celebration of life will occur on Sunday, November 4, 2023 beginning at noon, and the family will be available to receive friends until 3:00 p.m.
