In Loving Memory of Debra Jean Wade Jenkins
Debbie Jenkins, age 69, of Dawsonville, GA, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023. She was born on May 17, 1954, in Lansing, MI, and was preceded in death by her parents, Max Wade and Dorothy Stoddard, as well as her sisters, Carol (Don) Crawford and Lois Evers and nephew Billy Crawford.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years, Wayne E. Jenkins of Dawsonville; her loving daughters, Jennifer (Brodie Jacobson) Jenkins of Dawsonville and Carey (Seila) Phlong of Newnan, GA and her cherished daughter in heart, April (Chris) McGregor of Lilburn, GA. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Gavin Phlong, Everly Phlong, Niah McGregor, and Jonas McGregor, along with her brother-in-law, Danny (Denise) Jenkins of Buford, GA.
She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, Shannon (Brian) Meggs of Gainesville, GA, Shelley (Keith) Randall of Clarksville, GA, and nephew, Stephen (Heather) Jenkins of Athens, GA. Debbie was also a cherished great-aunt to Sawyer Meggs of Gainesville, GA, and Jay (Carly) Crawford of Flowery Branch, GA, and great-great-aunt to Channing Crawford.
Debbie was a graduate of Cross Keys High School in Atlanta, GA, Class of 1972. She devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, maw-maw, and aunt. Known for her kind heart, she opened her home to others, operating an in-home daycare center for fifteen years. Debbie's love knew no bounds, and she found joy in helping others. Her unwavering faith in Christ guided her, and she embraced everyone with warmth and love.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Earl Pirkle. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on the same day, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., to celebrate Debbie's life and share cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in loving memory of Debbie Jean Wade Jenkins.
