Laura Coggins Bailey

Laura Coggins Bailey, age 83, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Walter Bailey; daughter, Jennifer Bailey; sisters-in-law, Louise Coggins, Linda Smith Coggins.  Mrs. Bailey is survived by her son, Gary (Jane) Bailey of Flowery Branch, GA; grandson, Matthew Bailey; brothers, Willie (Peggy) Coggins of Flowery Branch, Leon Coggins of Buford; sisters-in-law, Clara Mae Bailey, Gail (Earl) Hedden, Debra (Lonnie) Hardy, Joann Tatum; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Debbie) Bailey; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend, Renda Smith of Buford. She was born on June 17, 1940 in Flowery Branch, GA.  Mrs. Bailey was a graduate of Flowery Branch High School and from Lanier Technology College where she received her cosmology degree.  Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Betty Cain Sunday School Class, the Buford Church of God, and the Prime Timers Senior Group at Buford Church of God.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and had worked for Flanigan Funeral Home as a hairdresser for a number of years.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Buford Church of God with Pastor Gary Scroggs and Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating.  Mrs. Bailey will Lie-in-State from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Buford Church of God.  Interment will follow at  Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
