Catherine Brackett Waters

Catherine Brackett Waters, age 74, of Clarkesville, GA, formerly of Buford, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023. She was preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Bertie Duncan Brackett, and sister, Elsie Brackett Brownlee. Mrs. Waters is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Stephen Waters of Clarkesville; daughter, Lori Waters of Buford; three grandchildren, Adam Ricci, Conner Ricci, and Gavin Waters-Ricci; sister, Laverne Brackett Woods of Buford; uncle, Allen Ray Duncan of Buford; aunts, Daisy Duncan O’Kelley of Buford and Charlotte Cleghorn Duncan of Sugar Hill, GA; brother, Rev. John Waters of Alpharetta, GA; brother-in-law, Tim (Cliftene) Waters of Alpharetta; sisters-in-law, Linda Waters of Alpharetta and Janice (Eddie) Sudderth of Batesville, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Waters was born on May 19, 1949 in Buford, GA and graduated in 1967 from North Gwinnett High School. She was a retired realtor from Prudential Realty, but had also worked for Bob Wood Realty and Norton Realty. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle in Clarkesville and a member of Habersham Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Waters was very involved in civic organizations, and she also worked for Relay for Life. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. John Waters officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
