Jessica Lynn Averett

Obituary Date: Monday, September 18, 2023

Jessica Lynn Averett a.k.a "Avert" passed away in her home September 18, 2023 in Dahlonega, Georgia.

She was born August 10th, 1986 in Macon, Georgia to Samantha Averett and Joseph Terry Chambers the third.

She is survived by her mother Samantha Averett, sisters; Savanna Ballard, Kayla Conner and Alison Patterson, nieces and nephews; Ansley, Emilee, Reid, and Parker, her very best friend Tiffany Smith; her grandaddy Edward Averett aunt Amanda Blizzard, cousins Devin, Levi, Nicholas, grandfather Joseph Terry Chambers the second.

She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Terry Chambers the third, her nanny Annie Sue Thompson, her great granny Hazel Blevins, her little papa Milton Blevins, and her uncle Stephen Averett.

She was a daughter, a loving sister, an aunt, and a best friend. She was loved by everyone she met. Jessica had a passion for teaching and adored children. She worked at Kidz Korner as a lead teacher for almost two years.

Jessica, aka "Avert" had the biggest heart and never met an enemy. She had a smile that would light up any room she entered. Often times you'd see her in cute dresses with her crocs-which she wore with socks and this big, messy bun. She'd always say, "The higher the bun means I'm closer to Jesus," as she’d flash the most beautiful smile and fluff her hair even more. She loved arts and crafts, and if you knew her I'm sure you received a little note or a doodle she made specifically for you. That's just who she was. She always made it a point to show you that you were loved by her and you never had to question it. The lucky ones got to experience her cooking. She was Betty Crocker 2.0. If you tasted her food then you'd understand. That woman could cook and the amount of love she’d sprinkle in every dish was just right. She will be missed dearly but please know that she lived a happy, full filed life and this is not goodbye forever. Every time you see a sunrise or sunset that is her watching over you letting you know she's there and she loves you. We all know how much she loved them. She would get that phone out and say, "Oh, let me take a picture really quick." That is where we can find her and I know every sunrise and sunset will be a little more beautiful and special now that she's there and coloring the sky for us.
