Raymond Mark Andrews, Sr.

Obituary Date: Monday, September 18, 2023

Raymond Mark Andrews Sr., 69, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 in Johns Creek, GA. During his final days, he was surrounded by family and friends who saw to an incredible outpouring of love and compassion as he joined those who preceded him in heaven.

Mark, as he was commonly known, was born on December 16, 1953 at GA Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, GA to Charles Wesley Andrews and Alice Marie Kikta Andrews. A member of the swim team, he graduated from Walker High School in 1971, where he went on to attend both seminary school and study theology.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Marie Andrews, and his sister, Leslie Andrews.

He is survived by his five children, Mark Andrews Jr and wife Kim, Stacey Pipkins and husband Arlen,  Stephanie Hart and husband Chad, Paul Andrews, and Kaitlan Andrews; seven grandchildren, Olivia, Wyatt, Emilee, Grayson, Callie, Gavin, and Cade; and two great-grandchildren, Laila and Emma.

A plumber by trade, Mark’s early career began by working with his father and brothers through the founding of R.S. Andrews in Atlanta, GA. Once a master of his craft, he would go on to found Metro Atlanta Plumbing, eventually becoming known as Cardinal Plumbing. There, with the help of his son, Mark Jr., he built a business with service, excellence, and integrity as its cornerstone principals. These principals permeated every aspect of Mark’s life and became the foundation that he would raise his family on. The epitome of strength, determination, loyalty, and integrity, Mark could often be found donating his time and skill to the churches he attended and the missions they sponsored.

As an avid sports fan, Mark’s greatest joy was participating in, and attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. As an exceptionally talented baseball player in his youth, Mark passed on his knowledge and passion for the sport to his children. When not working, he could often be found at the ballpark coaching and mentoring his children and their friends. In addition, Mark was also a lover of the great outdoors. As a native to the Atlanta area, he would frequently travel to Lake Lanier with his family where they would spend summers on the water fishing or enjoying a leisurely cruise on the family boat.
