Brandon R. Tolbert

Brandon R. Tolbert died unexpectedly on September 12th 2023. Brandon was born in Gainesville, GA on August 5th, 1996. He grew up in Buford, GA and had recently moved to Athens, GA.

Brandon worked for New Urban Forestry in Athens, GA and was working towards becoming an arborist. He was a talented musician and part of the jazz band and marching band at Buford High School. He was an avid hiker and kayaker, nature enthusiast, artist, and comedian. He loved going to festivals, concerts and music venues.

Brandon is survived by parents Harry and Amy Puckett, sister and brother-in-law Haley and Joshua Powell, and niece Annabelle Powell. Brandon was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Herman and Brenda Porter and paternal grandparents Carl and Mildred Puckett.

While he loved those close to him, as well as his dog Watson, he recently wrote in his journal that the person he loved the most is Mom. He is remembered best for his great sense of humor, and his love of trees.

Brandon volunteered with Save Georgia’s Hemlocks. He also volunteered doing tree service for the Soque River Watershed Association.

There will be a private memorial service held for Brandon at a later date.
