Rachel Gearin

Mrs. Rachel Gearin, age 74, of Murrayville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born in Hall County on March 1, 1949, to the late Woodrow and Beatrice Chambers Grindle. 

Mrs. Gearin was creative and loved crafting.  She collected wind chimes and nutcrackers that filled her home with soothing sounds and characters.  One of Mrs. Gearin's greatest joys was caring for her grandchildren, showing them love, wisdom, and precious moments they will always treasure. Her legacy of creativity, love, and care for her family will live on in the hearts of the ones missing her most.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, James Gearin; son Clifford Gearin; and granddaughter Rainey Gearin.

Survivors include her children, Tina Sanchez (Robert) of Murrayville and Gene Gearin of Gainesville; daughter-in-law Carrie Gearin (bonus child, Michael Agans) of Murrayville; brothers Donald Grindle (Lorraine) of Oakwood, Fred Grindle (Sherry) of Gillsville; sister Willie Mae Presley of Toccoa; grandchildren Jessica Neal (Matt), Nichole Hogan (Matt), Chris Gearin, six additional grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A visitation for Mrs. Gearin will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Sunday, September 3, 2023, all day at her residence, 6590 Payne Road, Murrayville, GA 30564.
