Ann Glass Gibson-Adair

Ann Glass Gibson-Adair was born on December 15, 1944, in Savannah, GA.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the age of 78 in Gainesville, GA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Anthony Glass, Jr. and Ann Hasseltine Davis Glass, and her husband of 30 years, Harold Adair.

Ann is survived by her beloved family: daughter, Christine Gibson Cosper of Charlotte, NC, and sons, William Carson Gibson, III of Lawrenceville, GA and Michael Glass Gibson and daughter-in-love Mary Brady Gibson of Braselton, GA, her grandchildren Caitlin Cosper Ritchie, Carlee Cosper, Michael Gibson, and Alex Gibson, her brother William Anthony Glass, III and sister-in-love Sandi McPhee Glass, as well as many loving family members and longtime friends.

Ann graduated from Druid Hills High School after her family relocated to Decatur, GA. She was a loyal Bulldog who graduated from the University of Georgia with a dual degree in sociology and psychology, and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.

She had a passion for advocacy and served as a neonatal social worker in Macon, GA, and as a state long-term care ombudsman for the Northeast Georgia District. She retired from Martin Marietta Materials where she served for over 25 years as community outreach representative and business manager of the Forsyth Quarry. Ann was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Cumming, GA and transferred her membership to First Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA after moving to be closer to her family.

Ann was affiliated with many genealogical societies and in each one she served in a variety of offices and chairmanships. Among them were National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, United Daughters of the Confederacy, National Society Daughter of 1812, National Society Daughters of American Colonists, Georgia Salzburger Society, and First Families of Georgia, 1733 – 1797.

Ann’s adventurous spirit took her on travels across the world and she blessed her family and friends with many exciting stories and beautiful memories. Ann loved her family deeply and had a passion for genealogy and family history. She leaves behind a legacy of deep family bonds, resilience in times of adversity, and the magic of celebrating life’s special moments, both big and small.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 22nd at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Braselton, GA. The family will receive visitors from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Foster Care Support Foundation or to Bell Research Center, a non-profit genealogical library located in Cumming, GA.
