Edmond L. Wallace

Edmond L. Wallace, 99, of Dawsonville passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 2, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 2, 1924, he lived his entire life in Dawson and Forsyth Counties.  He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was saved at Lumpkin Campground in Dawsonville where he enjoyed attending camp meeting every year of his life.  Ed was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II.  Affectionately known as “Papa Ed”, he worked extremely hard throughout his life and was very devoted to his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Vardy and Vallie Wallis; wife of over 60 years, Daisy Lamb Wallace; son-in-law, Jeff Dooley; 7 siblings.

Surviving are his children, Bobby “Bob” Wallace (Karen), Carolyn Dooley, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Robin Roland, Andy Wallace (Lindsey), Emory Dooley (Mary Claire), Paige Carr (James), all of Dawsonville; great-grandchildren, Chase and Lexi Roland, Anden and Jenna Claire Wallace, Esther Carr, Maddison Dooley; a close group of very special friends and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church.  Dr. Scott Gilbert and Rev. Andy Wallace will officiate.  Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Goshen Baptist Church, PO Box 1055, Dawsonville, GA 30534.  Please note in memory of Edmond Wallace and the proceeds will benefit the youth of the church.
