Lewis David Humphrey

Lewis David Humphrey, age 69, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Friday, May 26, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Charlotte Bryant Humphrey; and sister, Dianne Humphrey Albertson. He is survived by his nephew, John Albertson of Duluth, GA; first cousins, Lynn Bryant, Donna Bryant, Teddy Bryant, Scott Bryant, Joan Stancil Walls, Carol Stancil Green, Keith Humphrey, and Linda Martin; and numerous other cousins. Mr. Humphrey was born July 5, 1953 in Buford, GA. He received his PhD in Plant Ecology from Utah State University and conducted research in this field. He was an avid supporter of nature conservancy and supported numerous charities. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, June 2, 2023 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 PM until 8 PM Thursday, June 1, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nature Conservancy or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
