Ronald "Ron" Eugene Dayhoff

Obituary Date: Monday, August 8, 2022

Ronald “Ron” Eugene Dayhoff of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022. Ron was born on May 15, 1943 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Letitia Sarah Smith and Glenn Upton Dayhoff. He graduated from Taneytown High School in 1961 and received his B.S. in Math from Berry College in 1965. Upon graduation on June 5, 1965, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Evonne Dyer. The two were happily married for 57 years. Ron was a devoted husband, dedicated provider to his family, adoring father to his two girls, loyal friend, and committed follower of Christ who truly loved others unconditionally. He was a humble man of few words and extremely dedicated to his work whether it be at the office, in the mission field, or in the yard meticulously paying attention to every detail. Ron was passionate to participate with Jack Ballard’s Church Builders ministry all over the United States over the span of 30 years. Ron was employed with Coca-Cola for 20 years as a Financial Officer. He was CFO at Fernbank Museum of Natural History for 10 years. Throughout his years of retirement, Ron became devoted to his quiet time studying the Bible and not allowing anything to deter him from his morning routine. We are comforted knowing he is now in the presence of His Savior Jesus. Known as “Pap” to his six grandchildren, he enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball, granddaughters play volleyball and softball, and loved to tease all of them with his unique sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Evonne, daughters Stephanie Meade, Alison (Rhett) Bonner; brothers Barry (Betty), Doug (Becky) & David Dayhoff, and sister Sylvia Miller. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Sam (19), Jack (17), and Will (15) Meade; Madeline (22), Katie (19), and Rhett jr. (15) Bonner and many special nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at Dahlonega United Methodist Church, Dahlonega, Georgia on Saturday, August 13th at 3 pm. Visitors will be greeted at 2:30 pm prior to the funeral.
The family requests no flowers, but if you would like to make a donation in memory of Ron, please consider donating to Dahlonega United Methodist Church, PO Box 455, Dahlonega, Ga 30533
