Wayne Fauscett

Obituary Date: Saturday, July 23, 2022

Wayne Fauscett passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022.  He was born on January 18, 1951, in Gainesville, GA and was the only child of Andrew Ansel and Mamie Velma (Buffington) Fauscett.

Wayne was the 1969 class president of East Hall High School and helped plan and attended every reunion.  After high school, he attended Gainesville College. He was a former member of the Georgia National Guard and trained in the Army Rangers boot camp in Fort Polk, LA.  He retired with much fan-fair from Georgia Power Company after 48 years of service as a Lineman, Trainer, and Health & Safety Coordinator.  Never one to be idle, he then worked for Raines Utility Safety Solutions of Griffin, GA, Sparks Energy of Danville, AL, and Thiele Kaolin Company of Sandersville, GA.

He loved to tell his stories of various storm duty experiences and he was called “silver tongued” for his ability to capture the attention of his entire classroom.  He enjoyed his work and his extended family of work friends.

He liked to tinker and create (MacGyver) solutions with his tools and machinery and was always willing to lend a hand, loan a tool, and give advice.

Wayne was a consummate fiancé, father, grandfather, nephew, cousin, and friend whose focus never strayed from the family he so deeply loved.  His joy was truly apparent when holiday gatherings had him surrounded by the family that loved him so.

Wayne is survived by his fiancé, Hannah Sanders; son Nathan Fauscett and wife, Ginny; daughters Kathy Fauscett, Ginger and Jason Gibbs; grandchildren Ansley Fauscett, Charlotte Fauscett, Jayden Gibbs, Grace Gibbs; and many aunts and cousins.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, GA 30504.  The Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service at Dunagan Chapel United Methodist Church, 5540 Timber Ridge Rd, Gainesville, GA  30507.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
