Shirley Branson

Mrs. Shirley Branson, age 76, passed peacefully in to the arms of her Lord on Monday, July 4, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born in Christianburg, Virginia to the late Amos C. & Mable Viola (Davis) Richmond. Shirley was a 1963 graduate of Crichton High School, Crichton, West Virginia. She worked in the payroll department of The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA for over ten years. Her accounting career in Georgia included working for Calloway Gardens, The Atlanta Falcons, and FICOA Communications. Shirley was strong in her faith and was a member of The Church of God. She enjoyed the beach, traveling, and listening to southern gospel music. Her favorite travels were with “The Spiritual Voices” where she served as their product manager until she became unable to travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William (Bill) Richmond and Samuel (Pete) Richmond.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fred Branson, sons Kevin (Lori) Lilly, James (Brenda) Branson, Brandon Branson, and Jack Branson; Daughters, Carrie Williamson, Mardee (Mike) Burton, and Allison (Brian) Lowenthal. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Joey Gilbert and Mike Burton officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Gardens, Canton, GA. at 1:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
