D-day when he was 20 years old. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he attended Keystone
College and graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He joined Standard
Oil of Indiana, which later became Amoco, and is now known as BP.

He spent a few years as a Project Engineer in design and construction of petroleum and chemical

positions in manufacturing. He was assigned to a project in Italy for three years. After returning from
Italy, he was assigned to Spain for four years as Managing Director of a joint venture with a Spanish
