Imogene Stamey Dawkins

Imogene Stamey Dawkins, age 74 of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022.

Born at the “Charm House” in Clarkesville, Georgia on September 05, 1947, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles Claude & Mamie Allen Stamey. Imogene was a graduate of Gainesville State College and held various positions during her working career. She retired from Innovata as a Data Analyst. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crafting, painting art, and being outdoors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde, Johnny, & Charles Stamey and by a sister, Margaret Wilbanks.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Jerome Thomas “Jerry” Dawkins of Gainesville, GA; sons & their spouses, Kyle Thomas Dawkins & Julie Phillips of Watkinsville, GA; Casey Jerome Dawkins & Erin Riley of Takoma Park, MD; sisters & brothers-in-law, Lois & Zach Zaccagnino of Lompoc, CA; Frances & Joe Trotter of Gainesville, GA; & Vera Roberts of Mt. Airy, GA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Gastley & Mr. Stanley Brookshire officiating.
