Charles Hugh Merck

Mr. Charles Hugh Merck, 80, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Bradley Elliott and Rev. Michael Wellborn will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Born on August 28, 1941 in Fulton County, he was the son of the late Fitzburgh Merck and the late Pansy Heatherly Merck. He was retired from Peerless Winsmith and a member of Air Line Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Merck was preceded in death by his daughter, Tenoia Embrey and son Charles Todd Merck.

Mr. Merck is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Merck of Gainesville; daughters, Tracy Sockriter (Bill) of CO., Shanta Russo (Albie); daughter in law, Denise (Ralph) Gentry; grandchildren, Sarah Cravalho, Stevie Miller, Samuel Sockriter, Zoe Sockriter, Zane Sockriter, Tabatha Hanson, Rachel Matthews, Ethan Cowart, Winston Russo, Sterling Embrey; 8 great-grandchildren; brother and sister in law, James and Nancy Merck and a number of other loving relatives.
