April Darlene Adams Cosgrove

Obituary Date: Tuesday, December 28, 2021
The family of April Darlene Adams Cosgrove are deeply saddened to announce her unexpected passing on Tuesday afternoon, December 28th, 2021, at 55 years of age.

April Darlene was born months premature on December 12th, 1966, in Gainesville GA, at the former Hall County Hospital and was heralded as a “miracle baby” by her loving mother and father.  As a youth, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, and as she grew up in Lakewood Baptist Church, she enjoyed church outings, seasonal performances, and especially church out-of-town trips. Following marriage, she joined First Baptist Church in Gainesville and was very active in the Encourager’s Sunday School class.  Along with Ron, she enjoyed close relationships with class members for over three decades.  April graduated from Gainesville High School in 1985, and in 1986, graduated from Lanier Area Technical School with a degree in Cosmetology.  This allowed for following her art and skill as a Master Cosmetologist for the remainder of her beautiful life.  April was so very grateful for the dear and precious friends she made over the course of her career.

April is survived by her husband and soulmate of over 32 years, Ron Cosgrove of Gainesville GA, mother Patsy Dean Adams Swenson of Gainesville GA, brother Darin Adams (Dana) of Cornelia GA, brother-in-law Rick Cosgrove (Carole) of Sandy Springs GA, nieces Chelsea Adams Gravitt (Jess) and their infant son Archer of Gainesville GA., and Brittany Shirley Metrick (Chris) and their son Camden of Clarkesville, GA.  She is also survived by her step-children, Kelly Cosgrove Adams (Doug) of Cleveland GA and their two daughters Maggie and Millie, and Chase Bryant Cosgrove and daughter Harper of Savannah GA.  April had tremendous love for her two-year-old miniature french poodle, Zoey, whom she treated like her child.

April was preceded in death by her father Allen Edmondson Adams, grandmother and grandfather Mr. and Mrs. James Adams, as well as her beloved “Granny”, Wilma Yopp Dean, all formerly of Gainesville GA.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 6th, 2021, at Memorial Park Funeral Home (main) with the Rev. Bruce Fields officiating.  Visitation with the family will be held from 1 p.m. until services at 3 p.m.  Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery for all who want to attend.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
