Bryant Monroe Roland

Obituary Date: Wednesday, July 28, 2021

Bryant Monroe Roland, Gainesville, GA

49 years

DOB: February 12, 1972

On July 28, 2021, beloved husband, son and brother, cherished father and friend  gained eternal life at the age of 49 after a grueling battle with Covid.

The oldest of four, Bryant grew up in Glen Allen, Virginia with his loving parents and siblings, where he was known for his handsome looks, athleticism and friendliness. Bryant began his life here in Georgia as a student at the University of Georgia, where he graduated in 1995. Since, he has excelled at life in many ways through business, art, and music, but most of all as a friend and encourager to all those he encountered. He loved quietly, but fiercely. He befriended without judgement or expectation. His love was genuine, and gave you the feeling that you were worthy and valued. Bryant was also a devoted father who proudly and tirelessly supported Grant’s endeavors for the past 21 years. There was nothing more precious than to sit with him on a Friday night at a football game and experience watching and listening to him cheer for his beloved son and his teammates. As a stepfather to Mills and Nelle-Kate, his love and dedication was sometimes astonishing to recognize. He loved them like his own, and did so gracefully and respectfully and was a great blessing to them. Bryant’s love for his wife of three years, Mary-Rollins, was nothing short of adoration. His love and support for her knew no bounds or conditions. Bryant made us all better people and it was an honor to love and be loved by him.

Bryant is survived by his wife Mary-Rollins (Dunagan); son Grant Roland (Des Moines, IA); parents Cheryl and Don Roland (Richmond, VA); siblings Robert (Emily) Roland (Marblehead, MA, Justin (Stacey) Roland (Charleston, SC), Alycia (Will) Trice (Richmond, VA) and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of devoted friends.
