Arthur (Art) Lee McCanna, Jr.

Arthur (Art) Lee McCanna,  Jr.  passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2021 at the age of 65 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Art was born June 21, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to parents Arthur and Dorothy McCanna who preceded him in death. Art is also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorothy Bauman.

Art is survived by his wife of 40 years,  Patricia McCanna, his daughter, Miranda McCanna , his sisters, Maureen Gunnell  (George),  Kathleen Collins  (Dale),  Mona Papay,  his sisters-in-law Linda Flisek (Carl), Beverly Soell  (Robin),  his brother-in-law, Paul Bauman,  his father-in-law, Jack Bauman (Carol), as well as his nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Penn Tech, Art had a 40-year-long career in electron microscopy and worked at the Robert P. Apkarian Integrated Electron Microscopy Core (IEMC) at Emory University.

Art was a devoted husband, father, friend, and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.   He enjoyed being outdoors, playing ping pong, reading, listening to music, trying new beers, spending time with his family and friends, and playing with his dog,  Jerri.
