David Arthur Lynn

David Arthur Lynn, age 66, A United States Army Veteran, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 4, 2021.   

A memorial service, with full military honors will be held on Friday April 16, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Ingram Funeral home.  Mr. Bob Roland will officiate.

David was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on August 4, 1954. He was a wonderful father and loved his children deeply.  Left to cherish his loving memory are, Eric Logan Lynn (son) April Michelle (Lynn) Lewis (Daughter) and husband Robert Lewis. Steven Lewis (grandson). Pamela Kay (Lynn) Smith (Sister) and husband Lee Smith. Johnathon C. Thurmon (Nephew). His former wife and mother of his precious children, Ann Lynn Madsen. Shelley and Jay Greenhalgh.

Preceded in death by his father SMSgt (ret) Harold Ward Lynn and mother, Billie Jean (Carpenter) Lynn. He was a devoted son who loved his parents dearly.

David graduated from Parkway High School, in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1972, where he played football. David excelled both on and off the field.  After graduation He joined the Army, where he served a tour of duty in Stuttgart, Germany. After leaving the Army, David had a long career in the shipping industry. 

David was an accomplished song writer and guitarist. Self-taught he began playing at an early age. During his teenage years, his parents would often have their garage filled with musicians, playing the Rolling Stones or the Beatles. His gift for music led to many opportunities. He enjoyed playing for friends and family. Most recently he played for the annual Veterans Picnics. David enjoyed spending time with his beloved veteran friends who became his second family.

David was loved and respected by all that knew him.  He loved his country and served it well.  His gentle spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed.  We know he was welcomed into heaven and is in the arms of Jesus, and can only imagine the music he is now playing…and singing with the other Angels…..
