Rebecca "Becky" Grizzle Eggert

Rebecca “Becky” Grizzle Eggert, 66, of Hayesville, North Carolina, formerly of Dahlonega, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 following an extended illness. She was a devoted member of Foothills Fellowship in Dahlonega. Becky was a phenomenal cook and enjoyed getting her family together. She loved dogs and was known to help any stray she ran across, but Beanie was her favorite. Becky also enjoyed fishing alongside her husband and working in the garden. She was affectionately known by the many who love her as Nanny.

She was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Bessie Collins Grizzle. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Becca Grace Patton.

Surviving are her loving husband of 23 years, Edward Eggert; three children, James Bassett and wife, Meighan of Gainesville, Georgia, Tracie Cowart and husband, James of Hayesville, and Erica Whitlock and husband, Jason of Cleveland, Georgia; six grandchildren, Kellsie Patton and husband, Aaron, Logan Cowart, Claire and Tessa Bassett, and Kyler and Kerrigan Cain; and a great-granddaughter, Everly Patton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Foothills Fellowship in Dahlonega, Georgia and announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Rebecca “Becky” Grizzle Eggert to Cancer Treatment Centers of America at cancercenter.com or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
