C.B. Martin

C.B. Martin, 80, of Dawsonville passed away Friday January 1, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
 

Born April 9, 1940, C.B. was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  A member and home preacher of Etowah Baptist Church, he was a 1960 graduate of Dawson County High School.  He enjoyed working on tractors and served at the captain of Dawson County Volunteer Fire Station 3 for a number of years.  C.B. also worked at American Proteins for 25 years until his retirement.  A loving husband and father, he was preceded in death by his parents, Burner and Nellie Martin; first wife, Linda Wehunt; son, Leonard “Leroy” Martin; sister, Emmadean Whitmire; brothers, Arbin Martin and Hugh Martin.
 

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Martin, Dawsonville; son and his companion, Timmy Martin and Jennifer Cash, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, William and Betty Martin, Gainesville; step-sons, Dennis and Carolyn Anderson, Suches, Jason Anderson, Dawsonville, Jarvis Anderson, Cumming; grandchildren, Dillon, Grant, Morgan, Taylor, Chelsea, Lynsey; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
 

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 9, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Eric Watson, Rev. John Roden, Rev. Sam Rawlins and Rev. Ruel Martin will officiate.  Interment will follow in Etowah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday January 8 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
