Terri Obrecht Hicks

Terri Obrecht Hicks, age 71, of Buford, GA, passed away on November 16, 2020.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim Hicks, Buford, GA; children, Stephanie (Miles) Thetford, Columbia, SC, Kelly (Dan) Stoenica, Dacula, GA, Tate (Kathy) Hicks, Broadlands, VA, Drew Hicks, Memphis TN; grandchildren, Jeffrey Borgnine, Tori Jones, Emilie Hicks, Olivia Hicks; two sisters, Deborah (Barry) Olsen, Spring, TX, Laura Holtz, Denver, CO; two brothers, Richard Walton, FL, Dean Becker, Houston, TX; several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Hicks was born June 10, 1949 in Fairfield, IL.  Prior to moving to Buford, GA, she resided in Thomasville, GA for 28 years.  She was a 1967 graduate of Chamblee High School, Chamblee GA.  Mrs. Hicks was retired from Sugar Hill United Methodist Church where she worked with Rev. Mari Lane Brooks in the Counseling Department of Haven of Hope. She was also a former Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, at 3:00 p.m. on November 23, 2020 at Sugar Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Coleman officiating.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Sugar Hill United Methodist Church at 4608 Nelson-Brogdon Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA  30518.
