Donald Scott Lathem

Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home announces that Donald Scott Lathem, age 49, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. Donald was born on May 24, 1970 in Cumming, Georgia to Mrs. Patrica Hicks Chastain and the late Walter Donald Lathem.

Mr. Lathem was a graduate of Forysth County High School Class of 1988. He will always be remembered as a family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Donald was also very passionate about the outdoors. He often spent hours fishing and hunting everything from whitetail deer to turkeys to squirrels.

In addition to his father, Donald is preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Lathem of Dahlonega; mother, Pat Chastain of Dahlonega; children, Chad (Tabitha) Lathem of Dahlonega, Dustin (Tabitha) McKay of Dahlonega, Stephanie (Dexter) McKay of Dahlonega, Kayla (Cody) Ross of Suches, and Codi (Crystal) Lathem of Suches; sisters, Rhonda (Doug) Soule of Canton, and Donna (Ricky) Poore of Dahlonega. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Mr. Lathem's wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family. To make a donation to the family, please contact Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home at 706-864-4159.
