SUWANEE - Suwanee police officers and other employees were recognized recently by the City of Suwanee for service that exceeds expectations.<br />

Three police officers received Merit Awards in recognition of their exemplary service on specific calls. Officer Chance Belcher received two, one for thinking and acting quickly to get an injured driver out of her burning vehicle and the other for "judicious" pursuit and the eventual arrest of burglary suspects.<br />

Officer Robert McCoy, who also was selected as Officer of the Year by his colleagues, received a Merit Award for running into a blazing home
