HOMER - A Gillsville man died of injuries suffered in a single-car wreck in Banks County early Sunday.
According to Cpl. C.E. Parker, assistant post commander at Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville, the wreck happened about 12:05 a.m.
Parker said a Chevrolet Camaro driven by 22-year-old Benjamin E. Lenderman of Gillsville was traveling north on Henderson Road in Banks County.
"For an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree with its front," Parker said. "Mr. Lenderman was wearing his seatbelt and the airbag deployed, but he was pronounced deceased on the scene."
Parker said it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Funeral services for Lenderman will be held Tuesday. Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, is in charge of arrangements.
