Habersham County home damaged by fire

CORNELIA - A mobile home on Mud Creek Road at Creasy Patch Road outside Cornelia was damaged by fire around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Habersham County Fire Chief Jeff Cain said at the scene the mobile home suffered some fire damage to the exterior and primarily smoke damage to the interior.

One of the home's occupants was burning something in the yard and the breeze spread embers to the structure, Cain said.

The fire was extinguished quickly, and firefighters used a fan to clear the home of lingering smoke.

Habersham County and Baldwin fire departments responded with two engines and about a half-dozen personnel.

No one was hurt.

Creasy Patch Road was closed at Mud Creek Road due to fire apparatus in the road.
