St. Pius blows past Dawson County, 72-28

ATLANTA -- Dawson County's first foray into the state playoffs since 2004 did not last long.

The Tigers were overwhelmed by Class AAA seventh-ranked St. Pius X 72-28 Friday night on the road.

Dawson County (6-5) never led in the game but managed to put up the most points against the Golden Eagles this season. St. Pius came into the game yielding just 10 points a game.

Tyler Dominy had a stellar game passing for 325 yards and four touchdowns for Dawson County, which is still looking for its first playoff win since 1999.

St. Pius next will play hart County in the second round. The Bulldogs knocked off Adairsville 32-11 in the first round.
