Hall County Tax Commissioner Darla Eden Thursday night got the go-ahead from the county commission for a tax kiosk in North Hall

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is again celebrating National Lineman Appreciation Day but in the wake of the historic ice storm in February the electric co-op says this year's observance is all the more special.

"Open the Door, Take the Tour" is the theme for an open house planned at the Boys & Girls Club of Hall County.

The Gainesville Police Department will be hosting an interactive firearms safety course on April 18 from 9:00-5:00. Students will attend a classroom portion of the course then conduct “live fire” on the range. This course is free and open to the public.

Adults who have considered going back to college to complete their degrees will have a chance April 18 to learn about resources provided by the University of North Georgia (UNG) to help them reach that goal.

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Elberton Broad River Area Employer Committee will co-sponsor an Employer Business Summit and Networking event Wednesday, May 6, in Winder. The summit is the first of several that will be held throughout the state this year

The Jackson EMC Foundation board of directors awarded a total $112,500 in grants to organizations during its March meeting, including $92,500 to organizations serving area residents.
