Appalachian Trail celebrates 75th anniversary next month
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the completion of the Appalachian Trail (A.T.), the longest hiking-only footpath in the world, measuring roughly 2,180 miles in length from northeast Georgia to Maine. The anniversary will occur on Tuesday, August 14.

Extended unemployment benefits to end for some Georgians Sat.
The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) says some recipients of federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) in Georgia will lose extended unemployment benefits after Saturday. EUC was established in 2008 to aid the long-term unemployed.
