Gainesville unemployment rate climbs to 5.5 percent
The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) reports that the unemployment rate in metro Gainesville rose to a preliminary unadjusted rate of 5.5 percent in August, up two percentage points over the year from 3.5 percent in August 2007.
