NE Ga. radio station tower falls; vandalism suspected
WLHR in Lavonia lost its tower early Saturday when the 284-foot structure felld to the ground but it was not believed to be weather-related and instead the work of vandals.

Southeast stares down icy, snowy weekend
A thick band of heavy snow, freezing rain and cold temperatures was spreading across southeastern states early Saturday, promising a messy weekend of slick roads, power outages and prime sledding for kids out of school. Parts of north Georgia were blanketed in snow.

Economy grows at 5.7 pct pace, fastest since 2003
The economy grew for a second straight quarter from October through December, posting a 5.7 percent annual rate, the fastest pace since the third quarter of 2003.
