The number of people applying for unemployment benefits dropped last week to its lowest level since April 2008 and other figures released Thursday show the economy grew more slowly during the summer than thought.
State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler says the unemployment rate in Hall County decreased to 7.7 percent in November, down six-tenths of a percentage point from 8.3 percent in October.
