Chestatee senior quarterback Ethan Souther had a Homecoming to remember Friday night. Souther ran for three touchdowns and passed for two to lead the War Eagles to a 57-0 thumping of Gilmer in a key Region 7A-AAA game.

The high-powered offenses of Flowery Branch and Chestatee had huge nights Friday in taking big Region 7-AAA wins at home.

Winder-Barrow ended its five-game losing streak to start the season with a 25-17 win over Monroe Area Friday night in Region 8-AAAA play.
