Tennis: No. 2 Lady Trojans continue to roll (4/1)
The Class AAA second-ranked North Hall girls tennis team continues to roll through Region 7-AAA. The Lady Trojans easily dispatched Gainesville 5-0 Tuesday dropping just one set overall.

Apalachee wins boys NEGA Mountains Cup title
Apalachee shut out last year's NEGA Mountains Cup tournament champion West Hall 2-0 Saturday night to win the 2008 boys' title. In the 3rd-place match, Johnson defeated Buford, 2-0, and in the Consolation match, Chestatee beat Winder-Barrow 6-0.

Bruce Pearl anticipates staying at Tennessee, despite speculation
Bruce Pearl led Tennessee to its winningest season, a brief No. 1 ranking and a regular-season Southeastern Conference title in only his third year at the helm. Let the speculation begin. With coaching vacancies cropping up around the country, Pearl almost certainly will draw some suitors.

Braves farm out Carlyle, keep Bennett for final spot in bullpen
The Braves finalized their 25-man roster on Saturday, optioning pitcher Buddy Carlyle to Triple-A Richmond and handing Jeff Bennett the final spot in the bullpen. The Braves will go into Sunday's season opener at Washington with a 12-man pitching staff that includes starters Tim Hudson, Tom Glavine, Jair Jurrjens and Mike Hampton. John Smoltz and Chuck James were placed on the disabled list.

Feltes, Duncan lead No. 17 Jackets to DH sweep of B.C.
A grand slam by Brad Feltes highlighted a seven-run seventh inning and the senior third baseman added another home run - a three-run shot - in the eighth to lead No. 17 Georgia Tech to a 13-2 win over Boston College to sweep a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Commander Shea Field. In Game 1, David Duncan allowed just one hit through the first six innings to lead the Jackets to a 5-2 win.

Despite Cooper's 2 TDs, Miami's defense takes over late to win 'Canes annual spring game
Graig Cooper ran for 91 yards on eight carries and scored two long touchdowns Saturday to highlight the Hurricanes' annual spring game, the final official workout before training camp begins this summer. Miami's defense rallied to beat the offense 32-29, sealing the win with interceptions on each of the game's final two drives.
