The West Hall girls volleyball team prepared for the opening of its Area 7-AAA schedule going 4-1 at Alcovy against Class AAAA and Class AAAAA teams.

Sporting a brand new car at Lanier National Speedway, 12-year-old Chase Elliott needed a bold move Saturday night on the final turn to get his first win of the season. Elliott went high holding off two cars and then was able to slid past Austin Hill at the line to get his first-ever win in the Legends semi-pro division.

For the first time since 2002 the West Hall football team has opened with two straight wins after taking a 21-3 win over Pickens in Region 7-AAA action.
