The West Hall volleyball team split a pair of matches against Buford and North Hall Wednesday.

Class AA No. 1-ranked Buford won its eighth straight game Wednesday knocking off Class AAAAA Kell 4-0 in the Cobb/Gwinnett Challenge series at Georgia Tech.

The Lakeview Academy volleyball team did not drop a game in taking wins over Tallulag Falls and Yeshiva Tuesday.

The North Hall volleyball team swept a pair of matches against Buford and West Hall Wednesday.

The schedule for the 2009 Jackson EMC 50th Annual Lanierland Basketball Tournament has been released. The annual tournament will be held Dec. 4 to Dec. 12 at Lakeview Academy and Flowery Branch High School.

Flowery Branch improved to 6-1 in Region 7-AAA after beating Chestatee 5-0 Tuesday in softball action.

Buford opened its Region6-AA softball schedule in style Tuesday against Avondale. The No. 1-ranked Lady Wolves needed just three innings to while Avondale 15-0 in a game shortened due to the Mercy Rule.

Jefferson is still looking for its first Region 8-AA win after falling to Walnut Grove 6-0 Tuesday on the road.

The East Hall girls volleyball team made a little bit of history Tuesday taking first-ever wins over Chestatee and Johnson Tuesday in a pair of Area 7-AAA matches.
