(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Commissioners has recognized a White County woman who will celebrate her 100th birthday on August 22nd.

(Cleveland)- A White County Deputy on regular patrol Tuesday interrupted a burglary in progress.

(Cleveland)- Residents along Truelove Road south of Cleveland, who are upset about plans to build the new White County Jail in their neighborhood, were back in force Monday afternoon at a meeting of the White County Commissioners.

A woman who was shot during a home invasion in White County over the weekend remained hospitalized Monday.

(Cleveland)- Long time White County School Board member Cliff Hood of Helen has resigned his position on the board. He made the announcement to the board Thursday.

(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Education has decided to hold the line on the education portion of county tax bills this year, even though the county’s tax rollback rate showed they could have increased the rate slightly.

(Cleveland)- Stephens Federal Bank has closed their branch office in Cleveland. The closing was official last Thursday.

(ATLANTA)– Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Vance C. Smith, Jr. Tuesday announced that $53- million dollars was awarded in June for safety, resurfacing and bridge replacement projects throughout Georgia including a project in White County.

(Cleveland)- Ninth District Congressman Tom Graves was in White County Tuesday. The congressman of only three weeks dropped by the Caring Hands Health Clinic in Cleveland for a tour of the facility.
