Baseball: Dawson Co., Hab Central move into state rankings; Bluff remains No. 1 in 4A

Dawson County and Habersham Central jumped into the Coaches Box Week 3 rankings.

Released on Monday, Dawson County, who has won six straight, is now ranked 9th in Class 3A. Meanwhile, in Class 6A, Habersham Central (7-1) is on a four-game win streak and is ranked 9th.

In Class 4A, Cherokee Bluff remained No. 1 in the Week 3 rankings for the second week in a row. Bluff dropped its first game last week to North Broward Prep but finished the weekend 2-0 to improve to 9-1 on the season. 

Despite dropping their first game of the season to Walnut Grove last week, North Hall (8-1) moved up three spots to No. 6. 

Since dropping back-to-back games, East Forsyth (8-2) has reeled off three wins in a row, including a 3-2 win over No. 9 Walnut Grove last week. The Broncos moved up one spot to No. 7. 

Five of the top 10 teams in the Class 4A rankings are from Region 8-4A -- North Oconee (No. 4) and Walnut Grove (No. 9).

In Class 7A, Buford (4-4) dropped four spots to No. 7.
