Baseball: Chestatee opens 8-4A with shutout of Madison Co.

DANIELSVILLE, Ga. — Colton Wilbanks drove in five runs and Chestatee opened its Region 8-4A schedule with an impressive 8-0 win over Madison County on the road on Tuesday. 

Wilbanks singled in the third inning, knocking in a pair of runs, and tripled in the fourth inning, scoring three runs. Jake Hitchcock also knocked in a run on a sacrifice fly.

Dylan Thompson started and got the win scattering two hits and striking out seven in four innings of work. Brock Moody pitched the final three innings to earn the save for Chestatee (5-4).

Griffin Morris took the loss started on the bump for Madison County (2-6). Morris allowed seven runs on five hits in four innings.

As a crossover game between the North and South subregions, those games will only count in the standings for the region tournament at the end of the season.
