One person seriously injured in Habersham County DUI wreck

A driver was seriously injured after she was involved in a single-vehicle wreck Monday evening while allegedly driving under the influence in Habersham County.

The Georgia State Patrol said the wreck happened just before 9:30 p.m. Monday on Habersham Mills Road outside Demorest.

Katelynn Brook Crocker, 32, of Demorest, was reportedly driving a Ford Focus sedan east on Habersham Mills Road. The vehicle drove off the south shoulder of the road and struck a ditch. It rotated after that collision and overturned.

Crocker was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with suspected serious injuries.

She was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

Habersham County's Public Information Office said the road was cleared at about 10:40 p.m.
