Banks County Sheriff Carlton Speed announced Tuesday morning his plan to seek re-election as sheriff of the county in 2024.
Speed made the announcement in a social media post.
He has served as Sheriff for the past 11 years.
"I pledge to continue to provide the citizens of Banks County with the professional law enforcement they have come to expect and deserve," Speed said. "We have progressed into one of the most respected and professional agencies in the state of Georgia."
