FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Jess Tamplin scored 21 points to lead the Flowery Branch girls past Heritage-Conyers at home on Saturday.
The Lady Falcons (7-9, 1-4 Region 8-5A) jumped out to a 19-7 lead after the first quarter and led 30-18 at halftime to roll to their first Region 8-5A win.
In the second half, Branch upped the lead to 49-32.
Amiya Scott scored 11 points, Deniyah Randolph chipped in 10 points, and Jayla Gudz added nine.
RIVER RIDGE 74,
BUFORD 67
Despite Buford’s Ava Grace Watson scoring a game-high 44 points, Class 6A No. 1 River Ridge knocked off Class 7A No. 3 Buford at Buford Arena on Saturday.
River Ridge had five players in double figures and led the entire game, taking a 24-14 advantage after the first quarter.
However, the Lady Wolves kept it close the rest of the way but could get ahead in the loss.
Lydia Ledford added 10 points for the Lady Wolves.
Finley Parker led River Ridge for 28 points.
