Flowery Branch man arrested after fatal wreck on Atlanta Highway

A Flowery Branch man was arrested Saturday afternoon following a two-vehicle wreck on Atlanta Highway in Hall County which led to the death of another man.

According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, Taz Jordan, 61, of Flowery Branch, was arrested and charged with the death of Nathan Browning, 23.

The agency said the wreck happened Saturday at about 5:30 p.m. on Atlanta Highway at Cantrell Road just north of downtown Flowery Branch.

Jordan was driving a GMC Canyon pickup truck on Cantrell Road and had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with Atlanta Highway. Jordan allegedly failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign and pulled into the intersection. 

Browning, who was driving a Suzuki motorcycle north on Atlanta Highway, struck the driver's side of the truck as a result.

Browning was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been notified, according to GSP. 

Jordan was taken to a nearby medical facility but was released by medical staff. He was arrested and charged with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign and second-degree vehicular homicide. He was booked at the Hall County Jail.

The Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate.
